What these Keyboard & Typing browser tests can tell you
Use these tests to see whether individual key presses, modifier locations, simultaneous combinations, repeat timing and typing input reach the browser. A repeatable missing or duplicate event can narrow the problem before you change hardware or settings.
Useful starting points
- A key does not respond or produces the wrong character
- Several keys disappear when they are pressed together
- Repeat timing, typing input or a physical layout needs comparison
Evidence shown in the browser
- KeyboardEvent key, code, location and repeat values
- Pressed-key combinations and maximum simultaneous events
- Local timing, accuracy and counter results
Important limit
Browser events alone cannot identify a failed switch, keyboard matrix, cable, firmware, driver or operating-system setting.
For a clearer comparison, repeat the same action, change one relevant condition at a time, and record the browser, operating-system family, date and exact visible result. Use the page title and canonical URL when sharing the observation; do not describe a browser result as hardware certification.
